Union Jack cushions

The Union Jack cushion is always popular and here I’ve done a variation using Ian Mankin’s Empire 1 Stripe in Peony. I cut out strips for the cross shapes, then sew them on by machine on to a plain canvas ‘flag’ shaped piece of fabric. I’ve backed this one with Ian Mankin’s Campbell Union Peony which gives a lovely rich deep red colour.

Some of these cushions are destined for a prep school window seat - they’re also available to buy directly from me (£30 each) or from the Travelling Souk. All have feather pads and zip enclosures. I’ve also made one in the blue colourway:

‘Tor is a pleasure to work with. She always interprets a commission exactly as you have imagined it, or sometimes with a new twist, and always in good time. She has done fantastic work turning my tapestry work into luxurious, quirky cushions.’
